FLOWING EVIDENCE BENCHMARK

How do we compare writing with and without cards?

At the same writing position, the same model produces one first result with cards and one without. All 280 pairs enter the overall anonymized review, which assesses whether a decision not to continue fits the draft.

Overall: 138 with-card wins, 26 ties, 107 no-card wins, 5 pairs where neither was usable, and 4 inconclusive judgments. Both sides wrote text in 218 pairs; 48 had a deliberate stop and 14 included an invalid output.

HOW DOES BLIND JUDGING WORK?

① Anonymize both outputs
The AI judge sees the same draft and both first outputs without knowing which received cards.

② Compare and swap order
The judge applies task-specific criteria in X/Y and then Y/X order.

③ Review disagreements
A third pass resolves disagreements. Incomplete reviews remain in the denominator.

How are positions and cards selected?

We selected 40 writing positions in each of seven fields, for 280 comparisons. The position and relevant literature cards were set before each comparison, so both versions began from the same draft.

The main result retains every frozen position, including places where cards might not add a useful next move. This avoids selecting cases based on their outputs, but 49% describes the whole cohort, not a win rate where evidence clearly had an opportunity to help. This cohort did not record that opportunity label for each position before generation, so those two groups cannot yet be separated reliably.

CARD USE · 140/280

Reported card use in continuations with text

The model reports whether a card affected its continuation. In 140 of 280 tests it produced continuation text and reported card use. The previous count of 150 included 10 cases without continuation text and has been corrected.

COMPARISON · 70 / 7 / 30

Which written version was better?

Of the 107 reported-use cases where both versions produced text, the blinded AI judge preferred the with-card version 70 times, found 7 about the same, and preferred the without-card version 30 times.

How are the two table percentages calculated?

The percentages use different groups: 50% counts continuations with text reporting card use among all 280 tests; 65% covers the 107 such cases with text on both sides. The generating model reports card use, while an anonymized AI judge compares writing quality.

Card use is self-reported by the generator. The anonymized AI judge sees the draft and source snippets, so source-aware preference remains possible; there was no independent human review. The overall result describes these 280 frozen positions, not a win probability for any writing task.

Wormholes & Holography: An Introduction

6 Conclusion & Outlook

Perhaps more interestingly, Wormholes raise rather intriguing puzzles as well. The basic conundrum arises from the perspective in [ 48 , 45 ] , in which one has to either sacrifice macroscopic locality at some level, or re-interpret the defining path-integral of the system. In particular, [ 48 ] advocated a path-integral interpretation that involves an averaging over the parameter space of the system, and restore locality. On one hand, such an averaging procedure conflicts with an intrinsic unitary UV-complete description of e.g. in string theory [ 49 ] .

…produce some of the desired and fine-grained physics of quantum gravity. From a Euclidean quantum gravitational perspective, this is similar to the Gibbons-Hawking analyses of Black Hole thermodynamics. The Euclidean gravitational framework is ill-defined, yet it captures salient features of Black Hole thermodynamics. This necessitates an alternative and a more thorough understanding of the quantum dynamics of gravity in general. Such a framework is lacking at this point. The interested Reader may keep an eye on some recent ideas explored in e.g. [ 148 , 149 ] and its subsequent developments.

A = with cards · B = without cards

Both outputs correctly identify that the manuscript is already complete at this position and does not need continuation. The draft ends with a natural concluding gesture ('The interested Reader may keep an eye on some recent ideas explored in e.g. [148, 149] and its subsequent developments'), which is a standard way to close a discussion section. The paragraph before the blank already discusses the limitations of the Euclidean gravitational framework, notes that 'Such a framework is lacking at this point,' and points readers to future work. Adding another paragraph here would be redundant or speculative—there is no active argument thread that requires resolution, no transition needing completion, and no obvious next logical move within the scope of what's been established. The blank paragraph appears to be a formatting artifact rather than a genuine continuation point. Both abstentions are appropriate and equally valid.

We define a (semi-classical) path integral for gravity with Neumann boundary conditions in D dimensions, and show how to relate this new partition function to the usual picture of Euclidean quantum gravity. We also write down the action in ADM Hamiltonian formulation and use it to reproduce the entropy of black holes and cosmological horizons. A comparison between the (background-subtracted) covariant and Hamiltonian ways of semi-classically evaluating this path integral in flat space reproduces the generalized Smarr formula and the first law. This “Neumann ensemble” perspective on gravitational thermodynamics is parallel to the canonical (Dirichlet) ensemble of Gibbons-Hawking and the microcanonical approach of Brown-York.

To explain black hole thermodynamics in quantum gravity, one must introduce constraints to ensure that a black hole is actually present. I show that for a large class of black holes, such "horizon constraints" allow the use of conformal field theory techniques to compute the density of states, reproducing the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy in a nearly model-independent manner. One standard string theory approach to black hole entropy arises as a special case, lending support to the claim that the mechanism may be "universal." I argue that the relevant degrees of freedom are Goldstone-boson-like excitations arising from the weak breaking of symmetry by the constraints.

Card 3 · An application of Lorentz-invariance violation in black hole thermodynamics

In this paper, we have applied the Lorentz-invariance violation (LIV) class of dispersion relations (DRs) with the dimensionless parameter $$\textit{n}=2$$ and the “sign of LIV” $$\eta _+ = 1$$ , to a phenomenological study of the effect of quantum gravity in a strong gravitational field. Specifically, we have studied the effect of the LIV-DR induced quantum gravity on the Schwarzschild black hole thermodynamics. The result shows that the effect of the LIV-DR induced quantum gravity speeds up the black hole evaporation, and its corresponding black hole entropy undergoes a leading logarithmic correction to the “reduced Bekenstein–Hawking entropy”, and the ill-defined situations (i.e. the singularity problem and the critical problem) are naturally bypassed when the LIV-DR effect is present. Also, to put our results in a proper perspective, we have compared results with the earlier findings by another quantum-gravity candidate, i.e. the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP). Finally, we …

In this work we suggest a simplified "quasi-classical" formalism of the Schwarzschild black hole thermodynamics. We define such small quantum system at Schwarzschild black hole horizon surface whose reduced Compton wavelength equals one circumference of a great circle on the black hole horizon surface. (It is in some way similar to the Bohr orbital momentum quantization postulate for the ground state interpreted via de Broglie relation.) It admits very simple functional connections between all black hole basic thermodynamic characteristics (Unruh temperature, Hawking temperature, Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, Bekenstein entropy horizon surface quantization, evaporation time) and small quantum system mass. All this can be very interesting for the quantum gravity specialists as well as non-specialists.

In this article we explore the origin of black hole thermodynamics using semiclassical states in loop quantum gravity. We re-examine the case of entropy using a density matrix for a coherent state and describe correlations across the horizon due to SU(2) intertwiners. We further show that Hawking radiation is a consequence of a non-Hermitian term in the evolution operator, which is necessary for entropy production or depletion at the horizon. This non-unitary evolution is also rooted in formulations of irreversible physics.

Earlier card-use comparison

The earlier diagnostic compared only cases with reported card use and text on both sides; its scope differs from the overall AI review above.

This case does not have both with-card continuation text and a model-reported use record. It remains among all 280 tests but does not enter the reported-use comparison.
