FLOWING EVIDENCE BENCHMARK

How do we compare writing with and without cards?

At the same writing position, the same model produces one first result with cards and one without. All 280 pairs enter the overall anonymized review, which assesses whether a decision not to continue fits the draft.

Overall: 138 with-card wins, 26 ties, 107 no-card wins, 5 pairs where neither was usable, and 4 inconclusive judgments. Both sides wrote text in 218 pairs; 48 had a deliberate stop and 14 included an invalid output.

HOW DOES BLIND JUDGING WORK?

① Anonymize both outputs
The AI judge sees the same draft and both first outputs without knowing which received cards.

② Compare and swap order
The judge applies task-specific criteria in X/Y and then Y/X order.

③ Review disagreements
A third pass resolves disagreements. Incomplete reviews remain in the denominator.

How are positions and cards selected?

We selected 40 writing positions in each of seven fields, for 280 comparisons. The position and relevant literature cards were set before each comparison, so both versions began from the same draft.

The main result retains every frozen position, including places where cards might not add a useful next move. This avoids selecting cases based on their outputs, but 49% describes the whole cohort, not a win rate where evidence clearly had an opportunity to help. This cohort did not record that opportunity label for each position before generation, so those two groups cannot yet be separated reliably.

CARD USE · 140/280

Reported card use in continuations with text

The model reports whether a card affected its continuation. In 140 of 280 tests it produced continuation text and reported card use. The previous count of 150 included 10 cases without continuation text and has been corrected.

Which written version was better?

Of the 107 reported-use cases where both versions produced text, the blinded AI judge preferred the with-card version 70 times, found 7 about the same, and preferred the without-card version 30 times.

The percentages use different groups: 50% counts continuations with text reporting card use among all 280 tests; 65% covers the 107 such cases with text on both sides. The generating model reports card use, while an anonymized AI judge compares writing quality.

Card use is self-reported by the generator. The anonymized AI judge sees the draft and source snippets, so source-aware preference remains possible; there was no independent human review. The overall result describes these 280 frozen positions, not a win probability for any writing task.

Wormholes & Holography: An Introduction

1 Introduction

…t begins decreasing again. A similar physics has long been desired for the quantum dynamics of Black Holes. In a Holographic context, on one hand, this would clarify how quantum information is encoded in the quantum regime of gravity and equivalently in the quantum dynamics of the dual strong gauge-dynamics; on the other, it will shed light on the infamous Black Hole information paradox. Recent progress in [ 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 ] has precisely extracted the desired Page-curve time-dependence of entanglement entropy, as a fine-grained entropy, of the Black Hole radiation degrees of freedom.

… (quantum) gravity, in which much of the explicit calculations are under analytic control. Wormholes play an explicit and important role in producing the Page-curve dynamics for such models. Perhaps more broadly, these Wormholes generalize the Ryu-Takayanagi prescription to include bulk quantum corrections to a generic class of fine-grained entropies, known as the Renyi-entropy. To construct a specific state ( i.e. the corresponding density matrix) in any quantum system, one requires the knowledge of all Renyi-entropies. Thus, Wormholes emerge as an integral aspect in such state-construction.

A = without cards · B = with cards

Both outputs provide usable completions, but B is significantly better in fit and specificity. The draft ends by stating 'Wormholes emerge as an integral aspect in such state-construction' and explicitly mentions Renyi-entropies and density matrices. Output B directly follows this thread by providing a concrete illustration of exactly that state-construction process, connecting to fixed-area states and explaining how they yield flat entanglement spectra with density matrices proportional to identity. This precisely matches the source material about fixed-area states and Renyi entropies being independent of n. Output A, while thematically related, is more generic and speculative—it makes a broad claim about wormholes as 'structural feature of holographic encoding' that goes slightly beyond the draft's more focused discussion. The draft emphasizes calculational control and explicit construction; B continues in that same concrete mode, whereas A shifts to a more abstract interpretive claim. B also naturally incorporates the technical vocabulary (Ryu-Takayanagi, Hubeny-Rangamani-Takayanagi, flat entanglement spectrum) that the draft has been using. B requires no repair; A is acceptable but less tightly integrated with the specific argument at hand.

Preferred by blind review

A concrete illustration of this state-construction is provided by fixed-area states, in which projecting a semiclassical state onto a definite value of the Ryu-Takayanagi or Hubeny-Rangamani-Takayanagi surface area yields a flat entanglement spectrum at leading order in gravitational perturbation theory, so that the reduced density matrix is approximately proportional to the identity.

Abstract We consider black holes in 2d de Sitter JT gravity coupled to a CFT, and entangled with matter in a disjoint non-gravitating universe. Tracing out the entangling matter leaves the CFT in a density matrix whose stress tensor backreacts on the de Sitter geometry, lengthening the wormhole behind the black hole horizon. Naively, the entropy of the entangling matter increases without bound as the strength of the entanglement increases, but the monogamy property predicts that this growth must level off. We compute the entropy via the replica trick, including wormholes between the replica copies of the de Sitter geometry, and find a competition between conventional field theory entanglement entropy and the surface area of extremal “islands” in the de Sitter geometry. The black hole and cosmological horizons both play a role in generating such islands in the backreacted geometry, and have the effect of stabilizing the entropy growth as required by monogamy. We first show this in a sce …

We propose a solution of the naturalness problem in the context of the multiverse wavefunction without the anthropic argument. If we include microscopic wormhole configurations in the path integral, the wave function becomes a superposition of universes with various values of the coupling constants such as the cosmological constant, the parameters in the Higgs potential, and so on. We analyze the quantum state of the multiverse, and evaluate the density matrix of one universe. We show that the coupling constants induced by the wormholes are fixed in such a way that the density matrix is maximized. In particular, the cosmological constant, which is in general time-dependent, is chosen such that it takes an extremely small value in the far future. We also discuss the gauge hierarchy problem and the strong CP problem in this context. Our study predicts that the Higgs mass is mh = 140 ± 20 GeV and θ = 0.

By assuming that only (i) bi-local vertex operators which are diagonal with respect to the basis for local field operators, and (ii) the convergent elements with non-zero positive energy of the density matrix representing the quantum state of multiply connected wormholes, contribute the path integral that describes the effects of wormholes on ordinary matter fields at low energy, we obtain that the probability measure for multiply connected wormholes with non-degenerate energy spectrum is given in terms of a Planckian probability distribution for the momenta of a quantum field 1/2 alpha l 2 , where the alpha l s are the Coleman parameters, rather than a classical Gaussian distribution law; and that an observable classical universe can exist if and only if such multiply connected wormholes are allowed to occur.

These developments suggest that wormholes are not merely a technical device for computing entanglement entropy, but a structural feature of the holographic encoding of quantum information in gravitational systems.

The earlier diagnostic compared only cases with reported card use and text on both sides; its scope differs from the overall AI review above.

The blinded model review preferred the Evidence version. Its original rationale appears below.

Read the original model judgment

Output B is grounded in the supplied sources and connects directly to the draft's discussion. The draft explicitly mentions that 'To construct a specific state (i.e. the corresponding density matrix) in any quantum system, one requires the knowledge of all Renyi-entropies' and that 'Wormholes emerge as an integral aspect in such state-construction.' Output B provides a concrete illustration of this state-construction using the fixed-area states source, which explicitly states that projecting onto a definite RT/HRT surface area gives a state with flat entanglement spectrum where 'the reduced density matrix can be approximated as proportional to the identity' and 'its Renyi entropies S_n are independent of n at this order.' This directly supports the draft's claim about Renyi-entropies and state-construction. Output A, while thematically related, makes an unsupported claim that 'wormholes are not merely a technical device... but a structural feature of the holographic encoding of quantum information in gravitational systems.' The sources do not support this interpretive claim about wormholes being a 'structural feature of holographic encoding'—this is an extrapolation beyond what the sources establish. The sources discuss wormholes as calculational tools for entropy and specific constructions, but do not characterize them as 'structural features of holographic encoding.' This is a material interpretive claim not found in the draft or sources.

The passages are input material; their presence does not mean an output used them or that they support every claim. Draft and source passages are excerpted; no simulated scores or PDF appear here.
