How do we compare writing with and without cards?

At the same writing position, the same model produces one first result with cards and one without. All 280 pairs enter the overall anonymized review, which assesses whether a decision not to continue fits the draft.

Overall: 138 with-card wins, 26 ties, 107 no-card wins, 5 pairs where neither was usable, and 4 inconclusive judgments. Both sides wrote text in 218 pairs; 48 had a deliberate stop and 14 included an invalid output.

HOW DOES BLIND JUDGING WORK?

① Anonymize both outputs
The AI judge sees the same draft and both first outputs without knowing which received cards.

② Compare and swap order
The judge applies task-specific criteria in X/Y and then Y/X order.

③ Review disagreements
A third pass resolves disagreements. Incomplete reviews remain in the denominator.

How are positions and cards selected?

We selected 40 writing positions in each of seven fields, for 280 comparisons. The position and relevant literature cards were set before each comparison, so both versions began from the same draft.

The main result retains every frozen position, including places where cards might not add a useful next move. This avoids selecting cases based on their outputs, but 49% describes the whole cohort, not a win rate where evidence clearly had an opportunity to help. This cohort did not record that opportunity label for each position before generation, so those two groups cannot yet be separated reliably.

CARD USE · 140/280

Reported card use in continuations with text

The model reports whether a card affected its continuation. In 140 of 280 tests it produced continuation text and reported card use. The previous count of 150 included 10 cases without continuation text and has been corrected.

COMPARISON · 70 / 7 / 30

Which written version was better?

Of the 107 reported-use cases where both versions produced text, the blinded AI judge preferred the with-card version 70 times, found 7 about the same, and preferred the without-card version 30 times.

How are the two table percentages calculated?

WITH-CARD VERSION PREFERRED

The percentages use different groups: 50% counts continuations with text reporting card use among all 280 tests; 65% covers the 107 such cases with text on both sides. The generating model reports card use, while an anonymized AI judge compares writing quality.

Card use is self-reported by the generator. The anonymized AI judge sees the draft and source snippets, so source-aware preference remains possible; there was no independent human review. The overall result describes these 280 frozen positions, not a win probability for any writing task.

…tection of wildfires is also discussed. Fig. 7 illustrates the trade-off relationship or the so-called ’dilemma’ that arises when implementing the IoT ground sensing system for early wildfire detection. The critical factors to consider for IoT engineers deploying such a system are energy consumption, system accuracy, and detection delay. Suggestions are provided to enhance the capacity of the IoT system in one aspect without significantly compromising other aspects. These suggestions are based on a critical review of the literature combined with the preliminary result of our ongoing research.

… to systems without MPPT under various conditions, in non-ideal circumstances such as partial shading, cloudy weather, or varying temperatures. In a recent study [ 212 ] , the radiative cooling film is combined with a solar panel to further increase the efficiency of energy harvesting by adding an energy harvesting feature through radiative cooling to a solar harvesting system and has been proven to outperform the traditional method. However, further investigations are imperative to determine the maximum charging range and to evaluate the efficacy of such applications in outdoor environments.

Beyond energy harvesting, as highlighted in Section II , both MoS and pellistor-type sensors require heating, potentially shortening the lifespan of EDs and

Read overall AI review rationale

A = with cards · B = without cards

Both outputs complete the sentence grammatically and logically, continuing the causal chain about heating requirements. Output A ('increasing their power consumption') is somewhat redundant with 'require heating' already stated—power consumption is implicit in heating. Output B ('increasing the overall energy demand of the sensing node') better fits the academic register and scope: it generalizes to the system level ('sensing node'/'EDs' context), connects to the energy harvesting theme from the sentence opening, and explains why this matters for the broader argument about energy budgets in embedded devices. The phrase 'overall energy demand' also better parallels 'shortening the lifespan' as a consequential concern. Neither output contradicts sources or draft; both are usable, but B provides more argumentative utility by situating the consequence at the system level rather than restating the immediate mechanism.

The use of charge controllers in photovoltaic generation systems increases the energy harvested significantly. The most efficient type of charge controller is the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller. The commercially available MPPT controller is limited to the input voltage of the solar panel and to the charging voltage of the battery making it inefficient to very low irradiance weather condition. In this paper, it is proposed to increase the efficiency of commercially available MPPT controllers by adding Power Management System that has boost converter and switching circuit that will operate at low irradiance weather conditions like cloudy, sunrise, and sunset. The boost converter is controlled by the PWM function of Arduino Uno to regulate the voltage required of the MPPT controller. The switching circuit will automatically change the direction of current depending on the output of the voltage sensors attached to the PV panel and input of MPPT controller. The results showe …

This paper focuses on performance analyzing and dynamic modeling of the current grid-tied fixed array 6.84kW solar photovoltaic system located at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). A battery energy storage system is designed and applied to improve the systems' stability and reliability. An overview of the entire system and its PV module are presented. In sequel, the corresponding I-V and P-V curves are obtained using MATLAB-Simulink package. Actual data was collected and utilized for the modeling and simulation of the system. In addition, a grid-connected PV/Battery system with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller is modeled to analyze the system performance that has been evaluated under two different test conditions: (1) PV power production is higher than the load demand; (2) PV generated power is less than required load. A battery system has also been sized to provide smoothing services to this array. The simulation results show the effective of the proposed method. This sy …

The performance of a photovoltaic system is subject to varying environmental conditions, and it becomes more challenging to track the maximum power point (MPP) and maintain the optimal performance when partial shading occurs. In this paper, we propose an enhanced maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method utilizing the state estimation by the sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) filtering which is assisted by the prediction of MPP via an artificial neural network (ANN). A state-space model for the sequential estimation of MPP is proposed in the framework of incremental conductance (I-C) MPPT approach, and the ANN model based on the observed voltage and current or irradiance data predicts the global MPP (GMPP) to refine the estimation by SMC. Moreover, a quick irrandiance change detection method is applied, such that the SMC-based MPPT method resorts to the assistance from ANN only when partial shading is detected. Simulation results show that the proposed enhanced MPPT method achieves high eff …

Using Photovoltaic systems is gradually expanded by increasing energy demand. Abundance and availability of this energy, has turned to one of the most important sources of renewable energy. Unfortunately, photovoltaic systems have two big problems: first, those have very low energy conversion efficiency (in act between 12 and 42 percent under certain circumstances). Second, the power produced by the solar cell depends on nonlinear conditions such as solar radiation, temperature and charge feature. According to this, received power maximum of photovoltaic cells depends on different non-linear variables, it is necessary to be continuously traced, as maximum received power of the cell (by controller). In this research, the increasing efficiency of photovoltaic systems has been investigated by using Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in two different modes contained connected to the Grid and disconnected from the grid with simulation by MATLAB software. The obtained results showed that th …

In this work we present a novel dual-port grid-forming control strategy, for permanent magnet synchronous generator wind turbines with back-to-back voltage source converters, that unifies the entire range of functions from maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to providing inertia and fast frequency response without explicit mode switching between grid-following and grid-forming control. The controls impose a well-defined AC voltage at the grid-side converter (GSC) and the machine-side converter (MSC) AC terminals and explicitly stabilize the DC-link capacitor voltage through both GSC and MSC. The wind turbine's kinetic energy storage and curtailment are adjusted through a combination of implicit rotor speed control and pitch angle control and directly determine the operating mode and level of grid support. Moreover, we provide analytical small-signal stability conditions for a simplified system and explicitly characterize the relationship between control gains, curtailment, and the wind …
