FLOWING EVIDENCE BENCHMARK

How do we compare writing with and without cards?

At the same writing position, the same model produces one first result with cards and one without. All 280 pairs enter the overall anonymized review, which assesses whether a decision not to continue fits the draft.

Overall: 138 with-card wins, 26 ties, 107 no-card wins, 5 pairs where neither was usable, and 4 inconclusive judgments. Both sides wrote text in 218 pairs; 48 had a deliberate stop and 14 included an invalid output.

HOW DOES BLIND JUDGING WORK?

① Anonymize both outputs
The AI judge sees the same draft and both first outputs without knowing which received cards.

② Compare and swap order
The judge applies task-specific criteria in X/Y and then Y/X order.

③ Review disagreements
A third pass resolves disagreements. Incomplete reviews remain in the denominator.

How are positions and cards selected?

We selected 40 writing positions in each of seven fields, for 280 comparisons. The position and relevant literature cards were set before each comparison, so both versions began from the same draft.

The main result retains every frozen position, including places where cards might not add a useful next move. This avoids selecting cases based on their outputs, but 49% describes the whole cohort, not a win rate where evidence clearly had an opportunity to help. This cohort did not record that opportunity label for each position before generation, so those two groups cannot yet be separated reliably.

CARD USE · 140/280

Reported card use in continuations with text

The model reports whether a card affected its continuation. In 140 of 280 tests it produced continuation text and reported card use. The previous count of 150 included 10 cases without continuation text and has been corrected.

COMPARISON · 70 / 7 / 30

Which written version was better?

Of the 107 reported-use cases where both versions produced text, the blinded AI judge preferred the with-card version 70 times, found 7 about the same, and preferred the without-card version 30 times.

The percentages use different groups: 50% counts continuations with text reporting card use among all 280 tests; 65% covers the 107 such cases with text on both sides. The generating model reports card use, while an anonymized AI judge compares writing quality.

Card use is self-reported by the generator. The anonymized AI judge sees the draft and source snippets, so source-aware preference remains possible; there was no independent human review. The overall result describes these 280 frozen positions, not a win probability for any writing task.

Wormholes & Holography: An Introduction

1 Introduction

…cept of entanglement in the boundary gauge theory. Not only this idea connects quantum entanglement with the structure (emergence) of spacetime 2 2 2 For a recent set of such ideas, referred to as the ER=EPR conjecture, see [ 13 ] . For more general aspect of this connection and recent progress, see e.g. [ 14 , 15 ] . , it allows us to extract fine-grained physical observables of the strongly coupled gauge-dynamics at the boundary, by performing entirely geometric computations. Wormholes play remarkably crucial roles in Holography, specially from the quantum information theoretic perspective.

… extracting fine-grained physics is an extremely important problem. From an entropic perspective, a radiating Black Hole keeps emitting Hawking quanta which keeps unboundedly increasing the corresponding entanglement entropy of the radiation. This is in stark contrast with an upper bound of the total entropy of the Black Hole, which is given by the famous Bekenstein-Hawking formula [ 16 , 17 ] . In a nutshell, this is the essence of the (in)-famous information paradox 3 3 3 For more detailed account of this, see e.g. [ 18 ] . that a consistent theory of quantum gravity is expected to resolve.

Read overall AI review rationale

A = with cards · B = without cards

The draft ends with a clear setup: it introduces the information paradox and states that 'a consistent theory of quantum gravity is expected to resolve' it. This is an incomplete argumentative move—the paragraph has raised a problem but not yet developed its significance or connection to the broader discussion of wormholes and holography that preceded it. Output A provides a natural continuation that bridges the paradox description back to the paper's central theme (fine-grained physics, geometry, and entropy), sharpening the tension between semiclassical coarse-graining and quantum correlations. This fits the academic flow and connects to the sources' themes about entropy, coarse-graining, and information. Output B's 'complete' action is inappropriate here because the paragraph genuinely needs a next move: ending on 'is expected to resolve' without any elaboration leaves the argument hanging. The preceding text about extracting fine-grained physics via geometric computations and the crucial role of wormholes demands some synthesis or transition, not an abrupt stop.

Preferred by blind review

The paradox sharpens when one asks how the fine-grained correlations of the emitted quanta can be encoded in a geometry that, semiclassically, appears to carry only coarse-grained entropy.

We present a coherent picture of the quantum mechanics of black holes. The picture does not require the introduction of any drastically new physical effect beyond what is already known; it arises mostly from synthesizing and (re)interpreting existing results in appropriate manners. We identify the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy as the entropy associated with coarse-graining performed to obtain semiclassical field theory from a fundamental microscopic theory of quantum gravity. This clarifies the issues around the unitary evolution, the existence of the interior spacetime, and the thermodynamic nature in black hole physics — any result in semiclassical field theory is a statement about the maximally mixed ensemble of microscopic quantum states consistent with the specified background, within the precision allowed by quantum mechanics. We present a detailed analysis of information transfer in Hawking emission and black hole mining processes, clarifying what aspects of the underlying dynamics …

It is sometimes believed that small quantum gravity corrections to the Hawking radiation process can encode the correlations required to solve the black hole information paradox. Recently an inequality on the entanglement entropy of radiation was derived, which showed that such is not the case; one needs order unity corrections to low energy modes at the horizon to resolve the problem. In this paper we illustrate this inequality by a simple model where the state of the created Hawking pair at each stage is slightly modified by the state of the previous pair. The model can be mapped onto the 1-dimensional Ising chain and solved explicitly. In agreement with the general inequality we find that very little of the entanglement is removed by the encoded correlations.

Card 3 · Nonparadoxical loss of information in black hole evaporation in a quantum collapse model

We consider a novel approach to address the black hole information paradox. The idea is based on adapting, to the situation at hand, the modified versions of quantum theory involving spontaneous stochastic dynamical collapse of quantum states, which have been considered in attempts to deal with shortcomings of the standard Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, in particular, the issue known as ``the measurement problem.'' The new basic hypothesis is that the modified quantum behavior is enhanced in the region of high curvature so that the information encoded in the initial quantum state of the matter fields is rapidly erased as the black hole singularity is approached. We show that in this manner the complete evaporation of the black hole via Hawking radiation can be understood as involving no paradox. Calculations are performed using a modified version of quantum theory known as ``continuous spontaneous localization'' (CSL), which was originally developed in the context of m …

By entangling soft massless particles, one can create an arbitrarily large amount of entanglement entropy that carries an arbitrarily small amount of energy. By dropping this entropy into the black hole (b.h.), one can increase the b.h. entropy by an amount that violates the Bekenstein bound or any other reasonable bound, leading to a version of the b.h. information paradox that does not involve Hawking radiation. Among the many proposed solutions for the standard b.h. information paradox with Hawking radiation, only a few can also resolve this version without Hawking radiation. The assumption that both versions should be resolved in the same way significantly helps to reduce the number of possible resolutions.

Abstract The replica wormholes are a key to the existence of the islands that play a central role in a recent proposal for the resolution of the black hole information paradox. In this paper, we study the replica wormholes in the JT gravity, a model of two-dimensional quantum gravity coupled to a non-dynamical dilaton, by making use of the 2d conformal field theory (CFT) description, namely, the Liouville theory coupled to the (2, p) minimal matter in the p → ∞ limit. In the Liouville CFT description, the replica wormholes are created by the twist operators and the gravitational part of the bulk entanglement entropy can be reproduced from the twist operator correlators. We propose the precise dictionary and show how this correspondence works in detail.
